Privacy Policy

Foundry is operated from Canada by its founder. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, where it lives, and how to make us delete it. If anything here is unclear, email us and a human will answer: richardsonjill93@gmail.com.

The short version

We collect the minimum we need to build and run your app. We never sell your information. We never read your app's private entries. You can ask us to delete everything, and we will.

What we collect, and why

Your email address. When you buy a build or join the waiting list, we keep your email so we can deliver your app, send you receipts, and let you claim your owner tools. That is what it is for. We do not send marketing you did not ask for.

Payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment company used by millions of businesses. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us. We see only what Stripe shows every merchant: that you paid, how much, and the last digits of the card.

Your app idea and instructions. The description you type, and any change requests you make later, are stored so we can build and rebuild your app. They are sent to an AI service (Anthropic) to generate your app's plan and design. Anthropic processes this text to produce the result; we do not use your idea to train anything, and we do not share it beyond what is needed to build your app.

Your app's data. If your Foundry app stores entries from you or your users (for example a daily check-in), that data lives in a database (Supabase) protected so that each signed-in person can only ever read their own entries. We cannot browse it, and we do not. Where our software computes summaries or observations, it does so mechanically for the account that owns the data, and shows them only to that account.

Basic technical records. Like nearly every website, our hosting providers keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and page requests) to keep the service running and secure.

Where your data lives

Our services run on infrastructure provided by Netlify (hosting), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (AI generation). These providers store data on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. By using Foundry you consent to this cross-border processing. Each provider protects data under its own published security practices.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads. We do not read your app's private entries. We do not invent statistics about you. We do not keep data we no longer need.

Deletion, on request and on your own

If your app has a delete option (many Foundry apps include "Delete all my data"), using it permanently removes those entries from your device and our database.

For everything else, email richardsonjill93@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account data. We will delete your records, your app's stored data, and take your app offline if you ask, within 30 days, and confirm when it is done. Payment records required by tax law are kept as long as the law requires, and no longer.

Your rights

Canadian privacy law, including Quebec's private sector privacy law, gives you the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, and withdraw consent. Email us and we will honour it. If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will post the update here with a new date. We will never quietly weaken a promise made above.
